When I began this blog, I had just launched my personal brand website. The exact date it went live was June 3, 2019. As I began my journey, I committed to documenting the different experiences I had along the way. I did this for a couple of reasons:
- I wanted to look back at Day 1 and measure my progress
- I wanted to encourage YOU, Brander, to start
- I also wanted to encourage YOU (and ME) to not compare yourself to someone who is at a different point in their branding journey
Here we are a little over five months after my initial launch. These last two weeks have been a whirlwind as I navigated multiple news interviews with Fox Radio (hear a sample here as I discuss age discrimination in job postings), recorded the We Are VIP Podcast, was a guest on a nationally syndicated radio show (listen here), trained my new recruiters, and still found time to assist my clients.
WHEW!
I am tired all over again! I share this with you not to brag, but to prepare you for what to expect once you launch your personal brand and the momentum builds. You must be in a growth mindset to successfully navigate the quick twists and turns you will experience in the early stages of your personal branding experience.
I have a strong morning routine which grounds me and prepares me to handle multiple events throughout the day. I wrote in detail about my routine here.
While you will need to find what works best for you, I highly encourage you to incorporate some of these techniques into a morning routine. You will see this thread through almost all of my blogs whether I am writing on a podcast, book, or just sharing tips on how to build a better team in my #ThoughtFULLThursday blog. The most successful thought leaders in the world (Tony Robbins, Simon Sinek, Napolean Hill, Zig Ziglar, and the list goes on and on) all have this in common.
I also believe having clear goals written down has helped me to continue to build my brand. I review these goals weekly and build a plan at the beginning of each week to help me get the ball across the line.
No matter where you are in your journey, if you attack your plan with unwavering consistency, you cannot help but find success. The mistake many make in this journey is riding the excitement in the first phase (launch) and then slowly losing momentum which will cause your journey to brand to stagnate.
Keep your speed but be sure to take time for self-care!
There have been days where I am so tired I feel like I need a break and that is okay. As a matter of fact, I am writing this from a little cabin in the woods on a three-day quick getaway to refresh my creativity. What have you done to refuel lately?
Today, I challenge you to remember your WHY (read more here) and let it continue to fuel your journey to sharing the best you with the rest of us.
